Strange feeling

I have this strange feeling that my life is about to change. Val and I just realized that this is our last summer before we have to take care of what will be 2 children for a long time. Not that we will mind because we will certainly love the children very much, but our lives are probably going to be a tad bit different next summer.

Val is starting to show and has realized fully now that she can't fit into her normal clothes. This morning was quite funny when she walked in to the bathroom to show me what she was wearing and she could only get one button done somewhere between her belly and her chest. Lol..... That was funny. She is such a cute momma.

I have also noticed that I don't hug her the same either. Because I know she is sensitive in hehem... certain areas, I have to be a little more gentle. She also has a little belly in the way now. Actually, it's really small you just notice it and can't help but not press on it too much.

This weeks craving has been Apple Jacks for Val. Last night she got shut down though. She had a craving for this Asian / Thai place we go to sometimes called Panang. While I went to Jiu Jirsu class she went and tried to get some green curry chicken. Well, the place shut down and is being revamped into another restaraunt. Needless to say, she was a little dissapointed. One of the only times I actually can't do anything about it. Usually I would just bite my tongue and go to the store and get another box of Apple Jax or the morning Taco at Taco Bell. Oh yeah, have I told you, Val craves red meat sometimes now.... She has had tacos (beef), Pot Roast, a Cheeseburger from McDonalds and thats about it I think.

This year I am in 3 fantasy football leagues and wow is this going to be a fun year for it. Lots of stuff going on in the NFL and man do I love football. College football starts this weekend and I can't wait to see the Boilers get back in action. Speaking of which, Kyle Orton will be starting for the Bears come next week when the Bears come to town to play the Redskins. This will be the only week I don't root for the Skins. It should be a fun game.

Keep a peep on the blog. I'll try to update more often now that we have lots going on.

Twins!!!!

Great news! God has made it clear that Val and I should be parents. She is pregnant with Identical Twins and is in her 13th week of pregnancy. We are sooooo excited and are very anxious to be parents. There is so much information and things to learn that it is a wonder we can even sleep or keep working while we prepare for their arrival. Today was the confirmation that the 2 babies are looking good at this stage. All looks normal and healthy to the doctors thus far.

The picture below is of the 2 little ones at about 7 weeks in when we found out she was pregnant with Twins. The way you can tell that they are Identical twins is because they are in the same Chorion Sac. That is the black sack. That means they came from the same egg.
One of the worries until recently was whether the twins had their own Amnionic sacs. In the picture above you cannot see any membrane or sacs separating the 2 babies. We went to a radiologist today who uses a higher resolution sonogram and it showed that they do in fact have their own Amnionic sacs. This is great news because it decreases the chances for complications significantly.
Here are a couple pictures from today at 13 weeks. The 3D ones sort of make them look like they are aliens but they are cute little aliens. :)

So now comes the time where we have to start making things happen like, building up a baby room and visiting hospitals and all that Jazz. Luckily we have great friends here our age that have either recently gone through this or are going through it now. Unfortunately none are having twins or have had twins. Luckily both Val and I have family that have been through this before. My cousins are twins and their mom as well as the twins should be a good resource for us.

I hope this blog finds you well. Check back soon for more pictures and updates.
