Wood Pellet Stoves Really Work

Contrary to popular belief a wood pellet stove can make your house feel like you are in Florida on a hot summer day. I found this out the fun way. I finally got the wood pellet stove working in our house after figuring out a ting or two about how they work. On cold evening last week I got it started up and set on a modest setting 3 out of 5 for fuel settings. We went to bed and all was confortable in the house. Little did I know that a warm front was coming in that night and that the stoves chore temperature hadnt been reached yet. Val woke me up at about 2 in the morning to a "It's too warm in here" comment. Half asleep, I thought, oh, well I'll just turn the vent to our room off. This vent is a fan taking direct heat from the room below us to help circulate the air from the main room where the stove is in. Seemed logical to me, so I made this adjustment and told both of us to go back to sleep. We woke in the morning to walk downstairs to let Jake out and the temperature was 86 degrees on the main floor and probably about 80 degrees upstairs. The stove was cranken away all night and the temperature outside had risen about 20 degrees by the morning. Needless to say, it was a warm one!!! NOTE to Self: Check the weather regularly to assure that Wood Stove is not needed... :)

Here are some pics Val wanted me to post:

Caleb and Jackson being packed.

The pic I posted earlier of the boys crying at their B-day party was not actually their first cake. We gave them cake on their actual B-day. They still didn't really no what to do with it at first.
